Ateeq (Abu Bakr) and his Satan

Tradition of al-Imaamah wa al-Siyaasah, al-Mojam al-Waseet and Kanz al-Ummaal

Ateeq who was famous as Abu Bakr, says:

Surely there is a Satan for me who dominates me. If I am right, help me and if I deviate, make me straight.

How strange, while the Holy Quran says about Satan,

Indeed, there is for him (Satan) no authority over those who have believed and rely upon their Lord.

His authority is only over those who take him as an ally and those who through him associate others with Allah.
(Surah Nahl: Verses 99 and 100)

Hence, here Ateeq (Abu Bakr) openly professes to being a polytheist.

Poor Ibn Taimiyyah! He says that the above statement of Ateeq (Abur Bakr) is amongst his greatest virtues (fazaael)!!
